OUR STORY
11th August 1996
Value Inn Hotel, Klang
We held our first worship service. We had only 25 people.
For three months, the infant church ‘squatted’ in the small hotel, for worship and other meeting facilities.
On 6th October 1996, three months later, we moved again to a shop house in Bandar Baru Klang. While Asia and Malaysia went into the economic crisis and recession in 1997, we grew from strength to strength. The Lord has indeed abundantly blessed His people. That year too, the church’s Chinese service was born. We moved again the following year, this time to the larger premises at 16 & 18 Jalan Tiara 4, Bandar Baru Klang which became the church’s home until 10th July 2011.
In June 2000, the Tamil church was founded. We experienced many eventful challenges, we have been greatly favoured and blessed by the Lord. God’s mercy has seen us through all kinds of weather. Today, we have our own building and a combined (Tamil, Chinese, Hokkien and English) congregation of about a thousand. The church supports several ministries and social welfare programmes which include a home for the aged, food bank, hospital visitation and free tuition. Harvest is first and foremost a mission-oriented church; church planting is a crucial part of our existence. We support church planting locally in Malaysia and foreign countries in Myanmar, Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia. In this website, you will see highlights of our missions and ministries and partnering with 1st Assembly of God, Kota Bharu.
Harvest is also active in building and bringing together the body of Christ. We helped organize the first Asia Networking Conference in 2000 and Prophetic Conference in Myanmar in June 2002. Each year since 2002, we brought teams into Myanmar and Vietnam to encourage the countries’ pastors. We have witnessed dramatic workings of God’s greatness and goodness. We have watched the Holy Spirit touched young people and changed their lives in ways their families and friends could not. We give glory to God in our spiritual growth. We have a wonderful and responsible God-fearing leadership. We have seen continual evidence of God’s indescribable healing powers: several of these personal testimonies are given here. The Lord’s goodness to Harvest is undeniable. As we continue to see His will and destiny for the church, let us always keep Psalm 127:1 in our hearts and before our eyes –
“Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stands guard in vain.” All glory to God for His abundant blessings over the years. Hallowed be His name forever!

The great commandment
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22:37-40

the new commandment
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
